The coasts near Klütz offer excellent fishing opportunities.

Popular fishing spots include the Boltenhagen pier, Wohlenberger Wiek and the beaches of Brook or Steinbeck, where Baltic Sea catches include garfish, sea trout, rainbow trout, flatfish, eel and cod. Fishing is also possible from the pier in Hohen Wieschendorf and in the port of Wismar.

When fishing at Wohlenberger Wiek, it's important to note that fishing is not allowed in the bathing area during the season.
For fishing in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, vacationers always need two documents:
a fishing permit and the (tourist) fishing license.
Costs

Temporary fishing licence (tourists):
28 days = 24,00 Euro
Baltic Sea fishing license:
1 day = 6,00 Euro, 1 week = 14,00 Euro, 1 year = 30,00 Euro
(Subject to changes.)

Fishing licence
The fishing license requirement applies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from the age of 14 and allows for fishing with a hand line. A fishing license from another federal state is recognized if valid and the angler does not reside in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Residents of M-V always need a fishing license from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Fishing without a fishing licence - the tourist fishing license
For vacationers without a fishing licence, there is a special option in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - the tourist fishing license. This allows fishing at numerous waters in MV without an angling exam. The tourist fishing license is valid for a continuous period of 28 days and can be extended multiple times.
Important:
The limited-term fishing license must be applied for 21 days before the desired fishing date.
Fishing Permit for Fishing Waters
In addition to the fishing and tourist fishing license, you need a fishing permit to fish at a specific water, exercising fishing rights with a hand line.
Individuals with a fishing license from their respective federal state can apply for an electronic fishing permit for the Baltic Sea online at the State Office for Fisheries.
Those without a fishing license can apply for a tourist fishing permit from the local regulatory authority in M-V (here at the Klützer Winkel office) and have it sent to them before their planned vacation. It's crucial to apply for this 21 days before the fishing date.
The fishing license can be obtained from the Citizens' Office of the Amt Klützer Winkel
